I am a born and raised Montanan, spending most of my life in Billings. I graduated from the University of Montana in 2014 with my undergraduate in Social Work and Psychology. I completed my Master's in Social Work from Walla Walla University, Billings Campus, in 2017. I have been a Licensed Clinician Social Worker since 2020. My approach to mental health care has always been an incorporation of the mind, body, and whole self. I believe in movement as medicine and a mindful relationship with your body as an avenue to healing. 6 years ago, I discovered Oula Fitness, which is the perfect meeting of my passion for mental health and my desire to help individuals achieve wellness through community, movement, and a healed relationship with their bodies. These principles are infused in my therapeutic work. It is my belief that physical and mental health can be achieved by individuals of all sizes and abilities, and that mental wellness cannot be achieved without the incorporation of a peaceful relationship with one's body.
I have spent time working in CSCT (school based services), case management (community based services), home support services, and in therapeutic groups homes. My focus is working with adolescents and young adults. My areas of specialty are self-esteem work, body image issues, anxiety management, depression, trauma, ADHD management, life transitions, and overall stress/self-care management. I have an understanding of religious trauma and am LGBTQIA+ friendly.
I was born and raised in Billings, MT. I graduated from Montana State University Billings in 2011 with an extended Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. In 2019, I received a Master’s degree in social work from Walla Walla University. I have 10 years of experience working in mental and behavioral health including youth case management, in-home family-based services, and one-on-one mentoring. I spent time working as a child protection specialist, and have intimate knowledge of the foster care system. I have developed an approach to mental health care that embraces whole body healing. I believe that becoming aware of your whole self is key in the journey of healing. Engaging in therapy takes courage; once you realize there are parts of yourself that need work, it takes courage to not just take the next step, but to trust someone to help you in your healing journey. I am passionate about the importance of creating a safe space and a trusting relationship to allow wellness and healing to occur.
I specialize in working with youth ages 4-12 struggling with trauma, adverse behaviors, attachment disorders, anxiety, divorce, oppositional defiance, life transitions, adoption, and CPS involvement. I am interested in wellness and healing occurring within the family unit and will include parents or caregivers in the therapeutic work when it is appropriate and if the client is agreeable with it. I also work with teens and tweens, adults, and families.
